How will this course benefit you?

This course focuses on the latest OFSTED Inspection Handbook and looks in depth at the details within it that need to be an integral part of senior and middle leaders’ conversations and discussions about evidence that defines the quality of education within the school or college. Consistency is key to being able to highlight the evidence that the curriculum is delivering high quality outcomes for all pupils. We look at how to ensure all staff are able to answer deep dive questions about their own teaching, how they work with learners, how they know they are well and happy, making progress and accessing deep knowledge as well as continually developing new skills for learning.

What will be covered in the course?

  • A review of current policy and research into the effect of the pandemic on learning and staff and pupil ability to continue to deliver a high-quality education
  • An in-depth look at the OFSTED handbook and its main messages for all staff across the school
  • Focusing on some of the strategies that will build consensus and evidence that all learners are building on prior learning, progressing through well-sequenced curriculum planning and are achieving their potential
  • Exploring lesson observation as a powerful tool to support positive professional learning conversations and feedback
  • Looking at the importance of assessment and feedback in the pursuance of consistency and a consensus that over time learners are deepening knowledge and are learning well

Who is this course for?

  • For Senior Leaders – An absolute must for all leaders who want to assess how their school vision and curriculum intent statements are translating into positive outcomes in the classroom
  • For Middle leaders – Middle and subject leaders have a pivotal role to play in ensuring that the school vision and curriculum intent is consistently translated into high quality educational outcomes for all
  • For Teachers – A powerful course that will give those who work with pupils in the classroom with an opportunity to assess their input into ensuring there is a consistent whole school strategy for continuing improvement
