Behaviour Management - Coaching and Growth Mindset strategies that deliver success

behaviourThis Learning Cultures event focuses on how to use coaching techniques, Growth Mindset theory and specific pedagogical skills to develop pupil confidence and self - esteem that will work towards eliminating both low level and more extreme behaviour issues in your school.

The day will:-

  • Reflect on the reasons why pupils might misbehave and how currently this is dealt with
  • Work towards building a deeper understanding of what makes pupils want to learn and be a part of the culture of the school
  • Focus on coaching skills and how the use of effective verbal and non verbal listening, questioning and influencing skills can have a positive effect on behaviour in the classroom
  • A review of how the theory of Growth Mindset can be used as part of a positive approach to behaviour managemen
  • Develop a suite of strategies that will work in the classroom, across the school and in other settings to eliminate poor behaviour
  • Practice coaching using real life examples of where learning is disrupted by individual or group poor behaviour
  • Plan how to use the learning from the day to cascade to others in school
  • Have the evidence that OFSTED and ESTYN are looking for:-

" Parents, staff and pupils are unreservedly positive about both behaviour and safety. Pupils are keenly aware how good attitudes and behaviour contribute to school life, adult life and work"

" Pupils consistently display a thirst for knowledge and a love of learning, including in independent, group and whole class work, which have a very strong impact on their progress in lessons"
