Performance management is integral to the quality assurance processes in any organisation dedicated to ensuring high quality teaching and learning across all aspects of the curriculum and beyond. It is essential to make sure that the process is as effective as possible and leads to improved performance and ensures progression for all learners. It is also essential that the strategies and techniques used also motivate teachers and other professionals to think about their practice and how they can develop innovative techniques and ideas that leads to achievement and success for both the learner and the teacher. Our one day training event is designed to offer managers and teachers involved in this process an opportunity to develop a range of coaching techniques so that performance management leads to positive and motivational feedback and a collaborative approach to creating a whole school culture of outstanding practice.

• A review of the new performance management standards for schools from September 2012 
• A look at the purpose of performance management particularly its relationship to the organisational strategy for continuing professional development, quality and excellence and improvement in teaching and learning
• Reflecting on the appraisal process and the steps that need to be in place for the new regime
• A focus on observation, feedback, reflection and review ensuring that the process of performance management leads to a culture of reflection, motivational dialogue and self-esteem
• Defining what next, developing performance management strategies that have clearly defined objectives linked to professional development, a measurable impact on the quality of teaching and clearly defined learner outcomes

This event can form part of our SCOPE programme or as a stand alone training opportunity for those responsible for quality and improvement within your organisation.
