Making the most of the three years that has traditionally been devoted to Key Stage 3 is critical to ensuring that learners are fully prepared for GCSE and other relevant qualifications at Key Stage 4. We draw on examples of good practice where the development of a learning environment that meets the needs of all learners is key and where a range of different curriculum models have been developed. We have designed this programme to provide managers with responsibility for designing a Key Stage 3 programme of study with an opportunity to review their current strategy, examine some of the innovative ways the curriculum is being taught around the country and help them to plan a model that will inspire and motivate all learners to achieve their full potential.

The day will include:

• A review of the outcomes we are looking for in the design of the Key Stage 3 curriculum
• Examining some of the innovative curriculum models in use and judging their success
• Exploring curriculum content, making connections and creating opportunities for the enhancement of learners' s skills, knowledge and motivation to learn
• Creating a set of priorities for future planning, the communication of ideas and possible changes to current practice

This event can form part of our SCOPE programme or as a stand alone training opportunity for those responsible for planning and delivering functional skills within your organisation. The coaching techniques that underpin all our training provide a unique opportunity for all those who attend to cascade their experience to others within their team department or across the whole organisation
